Local Programs

Omicron Chi Omega (OCO) is proud of the local activities we host in Prince William County in addition to our international programs. Some of our signature activities, hosted in conjunction with the The Ivy Foundation of Greater Prince William County, Inc., the affiliated not-for-profit arm of OCO, include the Little Miss AKA Pageant, Gospel Fest and Big Hat Brunch.

Annual Big Hat Brunch and Fashion Show

Hosted by Omicron Chi Omega and The Ivy Foundation of Greater Prince William County, Inc.®, the Big Hat Brunch and Fashion Show raises funds to support Omicron Chi Omega’s scholarship program and other community outreach initiatives.

In 2018, this event featured a delicious buffet luncheon, jazz music by our special DJ, a line-up in the “Big Hat Stroll” to show off guests’ gorgeous headpieces, and a chance to win a prize. Guests bid on unique and interesting silent auction items, shopped at an exclusive “vendor’s row;” then enjoyed a fashion show! Featured designers amazed guests with their couture and trendy fashions.

In 2019, plan to attend the Big Hat Brunch on June 15 at the Waterford in Springfield, VA! More information on tickets and entertainment will be available here soon!

Annual Gospel Fest

Every year, for the last 23 years, Omicron Chi Omega has held its annual Gospel Fest: “Celebrating Our Faith, Honoring Our Men.” It’s our way of recognizing the numerous ways African American men in the local community have worked to make a positive impact in Prince William County, Va. Male choir from the Northern Virginia area are invited to sign, and more recently, we’ve invited special guests, such as Vickie Winans and Luther Barnes.

If you missed the 25th annual Gospel Fest on March 9 at C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge, VA, catch a snippet of this great event on OCO’s Vimeo trailer here!
